The Hybrid LTC class at Templar Defense combines the Texas License to Carry (LTC) requirements with our Fundamental Pistol curriculum to give Katy, TX residents practical, in-depth training. This course is perfect if you want more than just the basics. You’ll practice range drills, learn marksmanship fundamentals, and complete the 50-round LTC qualification and state test. No prior experience required.
What this class covers
Our Hybrid LTC blends classroom instruction and a half-day range session:

Fundamentals of pistol safety and handling

When and where to shoot, and how to make split-second decisions

Marksmanship fundamentals, reloads, and clearing malfunctions

Training on the legal use of deadly force and real-world application

Practical drills to build confidence and competence

50-round LTC handgun qualification, followed by the state 25-question exam
Who should attend
New shooters, first-time LTC applicants, and experienced carriers who want a practical refresher and better decision-making skills.

What to bring

Reliable semi-automatic pistol (NO revolvers) - bring the pistol you plan to carry. (Rental pistols available. Select “Handgun Rental” at checkout.)

Qualification & state test
After range drills and the 50-round qualification, we administer the Texas LTC state test (25 multiple choice questions). You’ll leave with the knowledge and required paperwork to apply for your Texas LTC.
